The Provincial Cooperative Congress is culminating activity last October 17, 2022 in Provincial Convention Center, Capitol Compound, Surigao City, that Cooperative members always look forward to attending. This year’s celebration is more meaningful because of the pronouncement of Gov. Robert Lyndon Barbers‘ programs aimed to alleviate the economic situation of the sector. The Launching of the Tabang sa Panginabuhian Financial Assistance during the Forum draws encouragement from the sector. The focus of this assistance is to sustain the development of the Cooperative that will create collateral development in the community. The locally initiated program together with the livelihood opportunities from the Philippine Coconut Authority and the Development Bank of the Philippines.

Open up the much-awaited opportunity for the groups to infuse capital to expand their current business enterprises. Moreover, the prospect of increasing income thru product diversification is a bright option. The Congress ensured a commitment to working together to attain sustainable livelihood undertakings.

4 cooperatives were recipients of Financial Assistance from Gov. Robert Lyndon S. Barbers as tabang sa ila panginabuhian. FISHCOOP of Consolacion, Dapa, Brgy. Roxas Credit Cooperative and Cantapoy Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative each receiving P100, 000.00 each and P 75,000.00 for Brgy. Ima Women’s Cooperative. While 7 cooperatives were recipients of a – 30-footer mechanized Baroto complete with accessories including a 16 HP engine, katig, and palatik.

Joining in the activity are Cooperative committee chairpersons from different municipalities, chairmen and officers of various cooperatives, Dept. Heads, Board Member, Hon. Cathy Gopico, LBP Manager Charlie Arquion, DBP SM Garsuta, CDA, and PCDO staff.
